My Top 5 favourite spots for Landscape Photography on the Sunshine Coast
My all time favourite spot would have to be Moffat Beach, Caloundra. With a wide variety of vantage points from the the Headland Lookout to watch the summer storms roll in or getting your toes wet walking the rocky headland. Some of my all time favourite shots have been taken here like this Blood Red Sunset image above, still do this day the best sunset I have ever seen!
Next on my list is the Sunshine Coast Hinterland looking over the Glasshouse Mountains.
A little bit harder to shoot here as the sunset doesn't actually set behind the mountains but more to the right hand side. So you really are relying on the colours to push over all through the sky to get something popping. But on the other hand this is by far the best place to watch the summer storms roll in as they push through from the South.
Double Island Point.... basically paradise!
One of my favourite spots to surf and get away fishing during the week but only accessible with a 4WD, and always super busy on the weekends!
Some beautiful scenery here with nice easy walks to the Lighthouse and rock pools/lagoons. White sand and beautiful pandanus overhang the beaches.
Sometimes you don't have to travel far to create something beautiful.
Most photographers want that epic location, colours and action but sometimes it can be as simple as laying in the grass to watch the sunrise.
This shot was taken early winter at Currimundi Lake while my 3 daughters were running around with their cameras :)
I'm sure this place is on every photographers bucket list to photograph and it's easy to see why!
I have always had mixed feelings about Noosa, it's a nightmare to find a park, people everywhere but put that all aside and start doing the Noosa National Park walk and you will pure beauty! I normally spend a good full day up Noosa doing this walk as i'm always stopping and finding new little hidden spots and can't get enough!
